Understanding Academic Language (formerly the Text Pattern Strategy) teaches students how authors of content area texts use academic language to convey meaning. This electronic manual consists of six lessons, instructional materials, and learning sheets. The lessons outline the procedures for conducting the pretest and posttest, and also the procedures for teaching the TEXT Strategy.
